Bed maker Harrison Spinks has boosted its sustainable credentials by installing solar panels on the roof of its Leeds-based factory.

Working closely with its energy management partners, the team has installed 548 solar panels on Unit 6 at the company’s head office, as part of the Government’s Feed-In-Tariff scheme.

Simon Spinks, managing director said: “At Harrison Spinks, we’re always looking at new ways to reduce our impact on the environment. We wanted to install the panels as solar electricity is a renewable energy and doesn’t release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants.

“Since the panels were installed, we have noticed a marked difference in the electricity we’re using in Unit 6. The solar panels are reducing our carbon footprint and dependence on grid electricity, as well as lowering our energy costs.”

Since the launch of its Contracts Division in 2014, Harrison Spinks has established itself as one of the leaders within the hospitality sector.
